Wed. Met with my uncle and one of his kids to board the bus to the casino. The bus was full except 2 seats. It took about 1 and 1/2 hours to get there with a couple stops to get everyone. After arriving just walked around a little and tried my luck or lack of I should say. The morning wasn't nice to me, but expected that. Still had some of what I budgeted before meeting my family for lunch, and a well needed break. We all ate too much and whished for a cot or large chair to settle infor a 5 minute powere nap, but nothing could be found.
The afternoon was much kinder and I ended up coming out ahead a little, which was really good. Decided to go wait by the door for the bus so wouldn't spend my profits... Got to do more visiting on our way back. Got back and my uncle showed me his garden and listened to some stories of how they made it with 11 kids back in that time, he had alot of extra jobs along with his regular job to make ends meet.
Woke up to rain on thursday and it slowed up in the afternoon so got to go and meet another cuzzin It was good timing, two of his kids were with him at his business... so got to see most of his family. After a nice visit, I left to pick up my Uncle have dinner get to know each other a little more.
Fri. met with one of the cuzzin's that I had already met a week before, but its been nice to have a one on one with each. She had a back yard that most people wouldn't like to mow, which is good for her cuz she has a day care business at her home.
Sat. Not anyone available to see today so decided to get some info into the family tree program. Each evening its been nice to be able to visit with the cuzzin at which I'm parked after she gets home from work. Needed to get more ink for the printer so found a WalMart with my gps... Love that little box that talkes to me and guides me to the address I put in.
Well today was Sun. it rained a little once in awhile but nothing that drove us inside. Had a cookout and watched while some basketball, dog playing and car fixing was going on and it was very nice of my landlord to check the air in my wheels and greese the kar kaddy barrings for me. With all checked out and ready for my travels in a couple days.
Its been a blessing that I have been able to meet cuzzins that lived clear across the states from where I grew up and it has been like I've always known them this past week. Knew their name for years and pictures that was sent to my parents and their stories of meeting them, so that has really been a blessing with this adventure that I set for myself to get done ASAP... Not getting younger and want to get to keep meeting more family along my travels, as long as I can.
I had help today in trying to understand facebook, and my space as well. Will be getting a little more help to get this information to stay into this old computer brain of mine. Still will need a cheat sheet to refer to after that.
Not done with meeting cuzzins yet, so will keep you all posted.
If you have a family member that you haven't seen or met, try and find them and at least E , write, call to find them. Family is wonderfull, don't take it for granted

mind overload
I got to one of my Uncle's kids house's that had a long enough driveway to fit my house and car. About oneish was my timing and we hugged and just visited. She had all ready got food done for the gathering saturday. My uncle came by to say high and bring me my mail, then we met another cuzzin and had supper, well thats 2 cuzzins out of 10 that will remember ok.
I got to help that sat. morning take all the food and decorations for the gathering. It was a early day for my regular routine, but survived. A friend of my cuzzin helped, we did some good stuff. took turns in coming back home and getting ready for the event after making the place awsome. The graduate picked up his own cake and that helped with the timming in getting ready for guests.
The family started coming and a few friends as well. I had seen pictures of my Mom's and kinda felt I knew them through the years. It was amazing and a joy to finally meet my 1st cuzzins on my Mom's side. Luckely their huggers like I am. I did get the batterie charged the night before in my camera, so I could get as many pictures I wanted without getting frustrated. They all cooperated in setting with their families seperately, then took alot of other ones.
Well it was a long day but very awsome day. I slept in sunday. Went and visited with one of the cuzzins and had a good talk. then got back to where I'm parked and rode along with another cuzzin to drop of her granddaughter in Grand Rapid, MI. which gave us time to visit. Picked up pizza for supper on our way back. Visited awhile and turned in.
Mon went to see another cuzzin and my Uncle treated us to supper, which was really good, enought to take back home to have for lunch tomorrow. Left there in time to visit with yet another cuzzin and both her daughters. Getting a one on one is helping me remember who is who and what they for a living, and their personalities..
Tues I didn't have plans so just got cought up on input into my family tree program on the computer. Tomorrow will be going on a gambling bus to spend time with my Uncle and another male cuzzin is going so that makes it nice, to be able to visit with him as well.
Well have to get some water in my tanks and see about calling another cuzzin to see tonight.

sorry its been awhile
Started out July with getting ready for dr. apt's, some unpleasant if you know what I mean. I think they take pleasure in sqeezing, poking and probing places that shouldn't be squeezed, poked and probed. Well thats over with for a few more years at least the one.
the 3rd it rained all day so didn't do much, which is OK with me, getting caught up on some paperwork that is badly needed. the 4th was a little labor intensive but later I went into a BIG town and had a beer with a friend to celebrate the day.
After church sunday it was labor again, working on a gazibo for the Prairie Retreat. The 4 of us 1 beeing the leader had a to quide us to carry out the plans, sure glad I didn't have to figure it out. The goal is to put the over 100 year old steeple on top of the gazibo. the next few day we had some help to get done to try and meet the finish date. With the 9 cement pillers down 4 to 5 feet and the lumber that was used, it will take a mighty tornado to even make it shake. the 10th its still not complete but getting there. Little finishing touches done by a very computent lady.
Left the area the 10th on my way to MI, to see my uncle and his family which has been a long time sence I've seen them. Although had a couple stops to make first, a friend from the military, while there need to flush out my hot water heaater, have you smelled rotten eggs, sulfer. WOW luckely I found a way to fix that in the manual, who would guess. then a cuzz on my husbands side in the same area,. then on the road heading east.
If I were anyone going that direction from Minnesota, don't, unless you skip chicago. WHAT A MESS. construction, traffic, road Changes and getting low on fuel was the most fun. AND we won't even talk about the TOLL roads, 30 dollars later and 4 hours to get through. Next time it will be way south then east if you know whats good for anyone not needing to go there. I DID yell out "HI Oparah", not sure if she heard me or not. The next morning I thought I was taking off early but NO, forgot that I entered another time zone so a not so early start.
Getting ready to shower and get to my Uncle's by noon or so. They are having a open house for one of the graduating kid tomorrow, so I will be overwelmed in remembering names. One at a time would be good for my brain but it will be great meeting all of them. Will have to take pictures to keep my mind from going bazerk, No commits needed about my mind , Some times it fun the go bazerk. Thanks for hanging in there with me.
next time you travel , try to enjoy meeting new people, there's some good people out in the world that are helpfull and funny.
