after getting back from spain

Well got to sleep early the night I got back from my trip. I had to be up early fri to be at the dermatologest by 0700. At 0730 they had me ready for the doctors. I had a spot on my forhead that tested positive for basil cell cancer. They numbed the area and started cutting. Didn't feel a thing. The nurses gave me warmed blankets to help me relax while they tested what they removed, they had to cut out a little more. They showed me the hole in my forehead and said they had to close it up now. They discussed making the stitches go up and down or sideways. they went up and down, so now have a 2 1/2 " scar that if my eyebrow doesn't go back to normal i will look angry on my left side.

Its a few days later and doing good. The area is numb and might be that way for up to a year according to the Drs.. Feeling some tingling so that makes me feel better that I'm feeling the healing happening. I did have a very colorful eye for the past week, which got me a few looks and a couple commits like, 'are you OK' and 'did I need any help'. It was very nice to know that if I'd needed it they would do what they could to help me. I was trying to come up with a good story for the shinner but nothing came to mind. I'm sure once I'm back to a normal color i'll think of a good story then.

Been watching the olympics alot. Watched curling for the first time and its almost like bowling but only one place to put your rock for points. Alot of sking which was wonderful, there is so many different events that it was so much fun watching even if the americans were in the top 10. It would be interesting to know all the events of the winter olympics, I'll have to look that up. The racing on the rink was amazing and hard to emagine how they stay goin around so fast without falling. The hocky game was amazing, I stayed up to watch it and was jumping up and down and yelling as well. Luckely no one could hear me.

Getting alot rain, rain, rain as well this last week. Hopefully today I will get some stuff done that I have been putting off for awhile. One of the things is to put some pict of my Spain trip to go with the blog. Hopefully I'll get it figured out, wish me luck. By the way thanks for reading my blog nonsense to the few that know I have a blog. haha

Back from Spain

Well I made it back but not without a hitch or two.

I go up the morning i was to leave and was a little nervice and wanted to get there even earlier than they want you to. Well that was good cuz I was at the wrong airline, they helped me to get the right gate. My cuzzin dropped me off and on the way the gas gage was flashing that it was getting thristy. so luckely i had some money in the ashtray for her to put enough in to get back home. I got on the plane and while setting there before it took off I started to tear up. A release or nerves or excitement or finally going so far away or what. Well then the plane took off and we landed in Denver with about a 3 hour layover but that relaxed me that I didn't have to hurry to the next gate, it was a ways to my next gate. Got on British Airways and they had tv's on the backs of the seat and these side things that came down so your head won't fall onto the person next to when you fall asleep. To me the food was good also. Landed in London about 9 hours later and got off the plane. Turned on my phone and guess what no signal, I thought I had that plan but NOOOOOO. Passed through the gates for checks and presenting my passport for the first time sence we went to norway 25 years ago. This time I was alone and no one to talk my nerviousness away. Made it fine and they heard my next flight was boarding for Malaga, spain. So didn't have anytime to get food or anything. landed in Malaga and went to get my luggage and NOT there, I wasn't the only one. This couple that came from KS didn't get theirs eather. We both went to lost luggage window and filled out a form. Went out the doors and my friends were there to great me. We reconized each other right away even after 25 years. We got on the bus and away we went talking the whole way. They live in Spain about 4 months a year and live in Norway the rest of the year. No car there so it was good that there transportation is good. That night we had supper in the Hotel dinning room and intertainment as we ate. The singer was very good and we danced after eating. Stayed there till he quit singing which was about 11 pm. It is 9 hours ahead of California timezone. Didn't change me watch so got to practice some math. Got to bed about there midnight.. My friends have a time share and had a two bedroom, so it was really nice, would have settled on the couch to be there.

The next morning still no luggage so borrowed a top. We went to a market that had so much of everything from spain and not from spain.. Took the bus there and walked around and got some things to send to family and for myself as well. We decided to walk towards the coast and ended up walking all the way back to the Hotel. Figured out that it was about 20 K to get back... it wasn't a fast walk, we were gone about 9 hours totoal. The sight was beautiful there were also stores that was at the boardwalks wanting to sell you something. the stores and little food placed wasn't much more that 20 feet with a little fence and another one, and thats the way they have it. They even had a few sand art people and I took pictures of them too. Have seen that from E mails but never in person. It was a beautiful walk, took pictures of alot of stuff and the clouds. It was cold there and stormy. Only had a few hours ( not at one time) of sun peaking out of the clouds the whole week I was there. Its was still nice to be there anyway.

On the days that we couldn't get out, the Hotel had activities to do if you wanted to get out of your rooms. I shouldn't say rooms, cuz they were little apartments, with kitchens. got to play darts, pool, bingo, and sjoelen. not sure how to discribe the last game but took pict. and instructions. and if you won you got a ticket for a refreshment at the hotle dinning room. or a bottle of wine if you blackedout on bingo. The Bingo was not the normal as we all know. Maybe will have one next time I get to some of family and friends in the furture. Also got to see a couple more entertainers at the Hotel, they were not as good the the guy the first nite I was there.

still around

Well as some of you know it is still raining, not every day or night but enough for the ground not to dry out. So needless to say No Yardwork is being done yet. Maybe staying into March will bring some sunshine and make it easier to get the yard done.

Had some Dr. apts. the last couple weeks and the good news is, its treatable... had some small cancer spots removed. Thats what all the sun in my teen years did to me. But keeping an eye on any other possibles. The UC Davis has been wonderful and getting me in to see a Dr. really quick.

Getting more excited about my trip to Spain next week. Whoops I let the cat out of the bag without getting more guesses to where I'm goin. Ill only be gone a week. I know its not long time for such a long tip, but will have more time to plan on any others trips and stay longer.

I did get some insalation put in my cupboards to ward off the cold and the heat in the summer. It seems to have helped with the temp. in the whole place. Should have had it when I was in KS. when it was 12 below 0. Live and learn or better late than never, or any other saying.

Just got back from goin out with family to a buffett place. And yes I had more than I needed, but it sure was good. Luckely we went early so I have time for it to digest before bedtime.

Won't be blogging until I get back from my trip and then I'll have something interesting to type about. Maybe some pictures if I can figure out how to do it. Till next time C
