finished on the road for a little while.

Well, in non freezing weather where i'm at. Its still cool though, and still need a jacket. The best of all es that my pipes in the MotorHome are not freezing..... On my way to CA. I Stopped at a couple of places in CO. to see family. Took hwy 50 which was not a good idea giving that it is Dec. went through some snow and ice on the roads and one of the nites was parked at a Bar campground, I just stayed in the parking lot, like at WalMart, because there were where else to stay any where close. It was early but very dark to drive and it had been a long day anyway. Went to bed at 6:30 and up several times and finally got up at 4:40 and waited for the sun to come up and take the last day to get to my destanation. Got to sacramento about 1pm and got settled in.
I had a good Christmas, had dinner about 1pm at my Uncle' and Aunts and their family was there as well. It was good to see them. Over ate and didn't need anything to eat that evening. Its been overcast and gloomy for several days. Hope all have a great New Year. I plan to stay up till midnight at least.

not in KS anymore

Hello there,
Not in Kansas anymore, now in CO. Left wed morning after a few goodby tears on my part.. While driving to warmer weather my water lines thawed out so the pump started working again, also decided that I didn't need to rush to California so Iwent south to see some cuzzins in southern CO. The weather is warmer here so will stay for a couple days.
Thanks for your messages on my blog.. you know who you are...
I did have a hard time this morning getting my furnace going -- when I discovered that the propane guy didn't turn the valve back on after filling my tank. So before getting my shower I struggled to get it turned it back on, when you don't have the strenght or the right tool. Now that is something that i need to be put on the list of things to get....... Finally got it turned back on and went about getting my morning routine going....
Not much to write about so will try and do something interesting in the next few days to put in the next blog.. Please make sure you get your Christmas shopping done early so not to get in my way Christmas Eve.. hahahaha

My son did a few jobs that needed to be done. I Keep a list of things for my kids to do, when I visit them, thats just what I do. I sure wish everyone a pleasent time shopping for Christmas. I have all mine done cuz I don't send any out. hahahahahah.
This is a short blog for now, need to get in my warm bed and watch a Christmas Movie

snowed in 4 now

Yes i'm snowed in, in KS. Its so flat here that the drifts are coming fast. Its windy right now, but staying warm. I'm in my sons driveway and only about 10 steps to their back door.
Our Thanksgiving was good and it was nice to have my sons here. Took lots of pictures! Being with my family is so good. Am thnkfull for the lifestyle i'm in right now, to beable to see my kids at least once a year.
I think the weather is bad in alot of places, Looked at the weather channel and all the places I would be traveling through is in the low 30's or lower, even the west coast is only 10 degree's hight than I'm at right now. the granddaughter and I come out and watch cartoons, thankgoodness the signal is still coming trough even with the weather.
Feel lucky to beable to get on line cuz my phone doesn't get a signal long enough to have a conversation, so texting is coming in handy. Wil have over 1500 miles to get to my next place. The shortest route will be 70 west then 80 west. Hopefully the weather will be good enough get me there in about 5 to 6 days. But if I don't get to leave when I want to then that will be OK too.

I won't be sending Christmas cards, they will be new years cards and they may be late this year. Sure hope all a Merry Christmas and fantastic New year too. Love Carrol

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone

Hello All.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD NAP AFTER EATING TOO MUCH!!! Just kidding. The best part about the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays is to be getting together with family and friends and celesbrate the getting together part, which is the best part. Christmas is for celebrating CHRIST's Birthday and not just the gift giving. Please keep that in mind while your getting ready for the Season.
Iam having a good time with my son, although he's at work alot, but get to see him everynight after he gets home. so when he's at work i'm spending time with my granddaughter and we let her mama come along too..... Getting ready for Turkey day. My other son and girlfriend will be here tonight to spend the long weekend before they all have to go back to work.
Today is really windy like yesterday, while i'm typing the RV is rocking so may bring the slideouts in, . Will be going to get the last things we need for turkey day and for a few days to feed 6 adults and of course the snacking for the long weekend. Its time to go to the store and I want to wish all a good day tomorrow as well and safe trips to and from their gatherings.
Love Carrol

Landed for awhile

Well I have landed in KS for awhile to spend some time with my second born and its much colder here than MO. In fact we had the first snow on monday the 16th Luckely I have tank heaters to keep them from freezing. Having a good time and enjoying another grandchild. The news says it will be freezing a night for a week, sure hope it warms up a little.
Went monday to a little bigger town than where my son lives and the snow was starting to stick, so my son lift his work truck at the shop and drove us back, well by then it had stopped snowing long enough for the roads to clear. Having a driver, I sat in the back seat with the granddaughter.
I'm finally getting to get on line more often. It seems to be different every time I move my house to another location. I never know if or when I can get on line. Thanks for your patience and not giving up on me. Till next time stay warm and if you are not please try to get in the CHRISTMAS Spirit, not just in the Holiday season spirit. Carrol

still around

Stil around. I have been having some problems with my communication device the last month. At first I was busy with some grandsons in ILL. so didn't worry about it. Had a good long weekend with them, went to eat alot and target, walmart a few times and Parks, and a few video game places. It was fun watching them play, they have grown alot sence I last saw them but not, if that makes sence.
After that I came to MO where one of my sons live, have had a good time. Halloween was good and funny seeing alot of fools dress up. I was NOT one of them, at least this year. haven't had alot of time to see my son with him working. If the weather if bad I get alot of time but if the weather is good he's working long and late. In a few days I will be heading for KS to spend some time with my other son. Will be spending Thanksgiving there with him and family with the son from MO and his family. It will be great and hopefully not too cold.
Well I was having trouble with the comp. so called the place where I bought it and they looked at it. Said I need to backup my stuff and restore it to the orginal settings. About a week later I called my broadband and they said the same thing, a couple days later I called HP and was talking to two places overseas and they said the same thing after going through places in my comp. Then this morning I called my daughter to put a note on my blog and we started talking and she had me do a few things and WALLA Its working and here I am to to blog myelf.
Well I'm fine and doing good and autos are working good for me as well. Will keep you in touch as long as my comp. still keeps going. Next time I'll skip the pro's and call her first.
Hope your Thanksgiving will be a good one. Carrol

on the road again

Sorry its been awhile.
Have been keeping busy with the youngest grandson and family.
I told you of my sister n law only having months to live. Well it turned out that the doctors don't know, only GOD knows. He decided that he wanted her to come home sooner. She passed on the 22nd and they had her service the 28 of Sep. Even as a week before her death the doctors were giving her 2 to 5 minths. She told me on the phone that it was Happening Fast, just less than 48 hours before. My daughter and I got tickets to fly to Sioux Falls, SD. Her husband got 2 days off from work to be with their son, One of my sons got to be there as well. the other son couldn't make it. All of her kids were there, even the one that lived in GA. Well I should say she lives in SD now. My sister n law is now with a son she lost in 2000, and with her brother/my husband and her parents and a granddaughter. She's at peace now.
Drove out of my daughters driveway today before noon and now soooo close to NC again then 100 miles to TN..... Its raining here where i'm parked, but it sounds good for sleeping. Nothing much on tv, it being sunday and alot of football, Although I do like watching the tight ends once in a while.
It was hard leaving that grandbaby but have more grandkids to see and spoil as much as I can. Thats a grandparents job.
tilllllll next time Carrol

NC happenings

Still Doing the Same as last blog. The weather has cooled down a little, but still shorts tempture.
The Grandsons Birthday Party was a success. It was a little warm but NO rain. The balloon slide ride was a hit. They came early so it got use right after the guys left, even it was good for adults too. Had plenty of food and fun. Went in to open the presents and get cooled down. The birthday boy was good with thanking all the gift givers with hug and thank you's. The next day we went shopping for another present with a friend that stayed over and a gift card, then Monday on his actual birthday he went to school in the morning and then to another gift card shopping and then Monkey Joes for some fun and out to supper. Got home and there were more presents that was held back from Parents and Grandma too.
The grandson has to stay home from school already, with a runny nose and a low fever, not sure where he got it, but being around alot of different kids for the first time is very NOT germ free. We were so busy getting ready for the party and during and after. So for the next few days, NOTHING.... I stayed home and watched the grandson with his mom went to shop for groceries, the frig was so full of birthday stuff couldn't get other meal groceries. We finished off his birthday car cake last night. Yes I said Car. He turned 3 and he really is into the Movie Cars and anything thats cars. He also like train's. What a shock for a 3 year old boy to like cars and trains hahaha..
Have some bad news of family, My sister n law has been given less than 8 months to live, heard a cuzzin inCA. has cancer, a friends husband has cancer. I don't think anyone that doesn't have a family member or friend that has been hit with caner of somekind.. My prayers are with these people and hope you will join me for your own family and friends as well as mine. I am!!!
Well its past noon and I'm still not ready for company so will get dressed and venture out in the outdoors. Till next time Carrol

Still hot and humid

Like I said in my last blog, I have been busy with the grandson and family. Shopping, Movies, errands and watching my grandson in his swimming lessons and gymnastics. He does have alot of energy that I sure wish I had. Even got to have him allllll to myself when the parents went out a couple of times to have some alone time.

Went to a ATV place and got to go on a ride, as well a drive. . My son n law took me through a deep water ditch, so the ride wasn't a clean one. He did get me to screem, so that was fun for him as well as me. My daughter and I went for a ride and she let me drive too, but it was more fun ridding along. We had a good time there, even had a pic nic lunch, and now looking for a closer area for the next adventure.

Trying to get this Blog done today/last night it didn't go, and it didn't save what I wrote???
Went to a couple movies on my list to see. Shopping for some shorts for the Hot weather here. Even picked up a iPod for music while I walk. My daughter even got me cought up on putting my pictures from my camera and thumb drives on my Book (external hard drive) It would have taken me a month but in about 4 hours its all done. Now she going to teach me to scan all my OLD picture albums. The teaching part might take awhile, with this slower brain. I guess after I learn it, it won't be a scary.

Went with my grandsons family to SC. I did a ride along with a nascar driver TOM Car # 2. Its not his normal race car, these cars are past race cars that have been rebuilt or schools to teach and ride alongs. Got all suited up and put the helmet on. They strapped me in and away we went. At first the driver thought I was in the school part, so he only went around 2 laps, so went another 3 laps, pulled over again and then I told him I was a 10 lap ride, so away we went again. Even fast than the other times. My son n law went as well and his driver thought he was a 5 lap ride along, so when he got his last 5 laps he rode in car #2 and he said that driver drove alot faster. What a day. The grandson eveb got to ride in car #16 to go around and get gas put in and when he got back he had the biggest smile on his face. Got good pictures and a couple movies that my daughter did.

There was a storm last nite that there were less than 3 seconds before the thunder hit after the lightning. I was a little uneasy, not afraid.. Its even been raining on and off this morning. Well can't remember all I wrote last nite but will think about it and get it in the next blog.

Remember to tell the one's you love, that you love them often..

till next time Carrol

humid heat

I have landed in another warm place in NC. and will be here for awhile. Getting to enjoy my youngest grandson for awhile. Went to his swimming lessons today and it was really good seeing him doing alot on his own, of course his Mommy was in helping him when needed. He loved jumping of the side into her arms.
The weather is pretty muggy. Having a little trouble with hooking up to the house and run the air. Ran the generator to cool my house down and thats done now and will get this all straighted out soon... Its will take some getting used to the humid heat that I'm not used to.
I enjoyed my visit in VA. Went to a fleamarket that had a little varity of stuff. Got some magnets of the states I just came through this past couple months.
May be a little lax in posting in the next few weeks, but don't give up on me. I'll be busy playing with the grandson, granddog and of course the parents of said grandson.
Try staying cool and I will do my best. Carrol

more cuzzins 2

Met the wife of one cuz I'd met and then met with 2 more cuzzins. It was a great 10 days for me and hope they in turn tollerated me.
I met with my Uncle and had breakfast and then hooked up and drove south about an hour and met with a cuzzin on my Dads side Spent 2 days with her and we toured the Ford assembly plant, that was amazing.. Then the little town she lives has a every thursday evening of sights and sounds throughout the summer. It was like a block party to alot of people that you don't get to see very often with work and all.
My trek across some more states that I've never been in was an adventure. A campground in Ohio was really cool with the largest swimming pool in the world, its in the guness book of records, haven't looked it up, but thats what the sign said. When I left the next morning I was stuck due to parking in a site that was a little too soft and the weight of my house isn't lite. Had to unhook the car and kar kaddy and they hooked on to the hitch and I put the house in reverse and it came out pretty easy. The campground and good people was really nice, they are thinking and talking about me all weekend about this silly broad pulling into a soft spot, Oh well they needed some excitement in their weekend. I hooked up again and headed on my way then that nite found another campground just about 150 miles from my destenation in VA and it was a nice place without soft area's to park.
I got to friends from out military days and having a good time. Their sons grew up and look a little like there little boy pict. The eyes don't change. And now one if a Daddy himself. You know they grow up, see pict but your mind goes to the age they were when you last law them. If I ever loose one ability it wouldn't be my sight.
The weather lets me know I'm at the EAST coast with the sweating factor. I guess I'll just adjust the best I can.
Till later Carrol

more cuzzins

Wed. Met with my uncle and one of his kids to board the bus to the casino. The bus was full except 2 seats. It took about 1 and 1/2 hours to get there with a couple stops to get everyone. After arriving just walked around a little and tried my luck or lack of I should say. The morning wasn't nice to me, but expected that. Still had some of what I budgeted before meeting my family for lunch, and a well needed break. We all ate too much and whished for a cot or large chair to settle infor a 5 minute powere nap, but nothing could be found.
The afternoon was much kinder and I ended up coming out ahead a little, which was really good. Decided to go wait by the door for the bus so wouldn't spend my profits... Got to do more visiting on our way back. Got back and my uncle showed me his garden and listened to some stories of how they made it with 11 kids back in that time, he had alot of extra jobs along with his regular job to make ends meet.
Woke up to rain on thursday and it slowed up in the afternoon so got to go and meet another cuzzin It was good timing, two of his kids were with him at his business... so got to see most of his family. After a nice visit, I left to pick up my Uncle have dinner get to know each other a little more.
Fri. met with one of the cuzzin's that I had already met a week before, but its been nice to have a one on one with each. She had a back yard that most people wouldn't like to mow, which is good for her cuz she has a day care business at her home.
Sat. Not anyone available to see today so decided to get some info into the family tree program. Each evening its been nice to be able to visit with the cuzzin at which I'm parked after she gets home from work. Needed to get more ink for the printer so found a WalMart with my gps... Love that little box that talkes to me and guides me to the address I put in.
Well today was Sun. it rained a little once in awhile but nothing that drove us inside. Had a cookout and watched while some basketball, dog playing and car fixing was going on and it was very nice of my landlord to check the air in my wheels and greese the kar kaddy barrings for me. With all checked out and ready for my travels in a couple days.
Its been a blessing that I have been able to meet cuzzins that lived clear across the states from where I grew up and it has been like I've always known them this past week. Knew their name for years and pictures that was sent to my parents and their stories of meeting them, so that has really been a blessing with this adventure that I set for myself to get done ASAP... Not getting younger and want to get to keep meeting more family along my travels, as long as I can.
I had help today in trying to understand facebook, and my space as well. Will be getting a little more help to get this information to stay into this old computer brain of mine. Still will need a cheat sheet to refer to after that.
Not done with meeting cuzzins yet, so will keep you all posted.
If you have a family member that you haven't seen or met, try and find them and at least E , write, call to find them. Family is wonderfull, don't take it for granted
Till next time Carrol

mind overload

I got to one of my Uncle's kids house's that had a long enough driveway to fit my house and car. About oneish was my timing and we hugged and just visited. She had all ready got food done for the gathering saturday. My uncle came by to say high and bring me my mail, then we met another cuzzin and had supper, well thats 2 cuzzins out of 10 that will remember ok.
I got to help that sat. morning take all the food and decorations for the gathering. It was a early day for my regular routine, but survived. A friend of my cuzzin helped, we did some good stuff. took turns in coming back home and getting ready for the event after making the place awsome. The graduate picked up his own cake and that helped with the timming in getting ready for guests.
The family started coming and a few friends as well. I had seen pictures of my Mom's and kinda felt I knew them through the years. It was amazing and a joy to finally meet my 1st cuzzins on my Mom's side. Luckely their huggers like I am. I did get the batterie charged the night before in my camera, so I could get as many pictures I wanted without getting frustrated. They all cooperated in setting with their families seperately, then took alot of other ones.
Well it was a long day but very awsome day. I slept in sunday. Went and visited with one of the cuzzins and had a good talk. then got back to where I'm parked and rode along with another cuzzin to drop of her granddaughter in Grand Rapid, MI. which gave us time to visit. Picked up pizza for supper on our way back. Visited awhile and turned in.
Mon went to see another cuzzin and my Uncle treated us to supper, which was really good, enought to take back home to have for lunch tomorrow. Left there in time to visit with yet another cuzzin and both her daughters. Getting a one on one is helping me remember who is who and what they for a living, and their personalities..
Tues I didn't have plans so just got cought up on input into my family tree program on the computer. Tomorrow will be going on a gambling bus to spend time with my Uncle and another male cuzzin is going so that makes it nice, to be able to visit with him as well.
Well have to get some water in my tanks and see about calling another cuzzin to see tonight.
Till next time Carrol

sorry its been awhile

Started out July with getting ready for dr. apt's, some unpleasant if you know what I mean. I think they take pleasure in sqeezing, poking and probing places that shouldn't be squeezed, poked and probed. Well thats over with for a few more years at least the one.
the 3rd it rained all day so didn't do much, which is OK with me, getting caught up on some paperwork that is badly needed. the 4th was a little labor intensive but later I went into a BIG town and had a beer with a friend to celebrate the day.
After church sunday it was labor again, working on a gazibo for the Prairie Retreat. The 4 of us 1 beeing the leader had a to quide us to carry out the plans, sure glad I didn't have to figure it out. The goal is to put the over 100 year old steeple on top of the gazibo. the next few day we had some help to get done to try and meet the finish date. With the 9 cement pillers down 4 to 5 feet and the lumber that was used, it will take a mighty tornado to even make it shake. the 10th its still not complete but getting there. Little finishing touches done by a very computent lady.
Left the area the 10th on my way to MI, to see my uncle and his family which has been a long time sence I've seen them. Although had a couple stops to make first, a friend from the military, while there need to flush out my hot water heaater, have you smelled rotten eggs, sulfer. WOW luckely I found a way to fix that in the manual, who would guess. then a cuzz on my husbands side in the same area,. then on the road heading east.
If I were anyone going that direction from Minnesota, don't, unless you skip chicago. WHAT A MESS. construction, traffic, road Changes and getting low on fuel was the most fun. AND we won't even talk about the TOLL roads, 30 dollars later and 4 hours to get through. Next time it will be way south then east if you know whats good for anyone not needing to go there. I DID yell out "HI Oparah", not sure if she heard me or not. The next morning I thought I was taking off early but NO, forgot that I entered another time zone so a not so early start.
Getting ready to shower and get to my Uncle's by noon or so. They are having a open house for one of the graduating kid tomorrow, so I will be overwelmed in remembering names. One at a time would be good for my brain but it will be great meeting all of them. Will have to take pictures to keep my mind from going bazerk, No commits needed about my mind , Some times it fun the go bazerk. Thanks for hanging in there with me.
next time you travel , try to enjoy meeting new people, there's some good people out in the world that are helpfull and funny.

warmer weather

Hello there,
Well i'm still in SD but more north where my husband grew up and we spent alot of time the last 5 years he was alive. A retreat that is calming and also hard 50for me to be, its getting better over time.
The weather is warmer and I've packed away my long jon stuff, still not bad for SD the end of june. Had a couple DR. appointments, getting things done for the yearly stuff. and still a few more to go.
My sister n law is doing pretty good with here cancer treatments, gets a little more tired, especially on the humid days and right after her treatment. having a mri done soon and then more treatments. And she still has all her hair. I think the treatment have slowed the growth down but not loosing any.
Had some family Birthdays this month and even a granddaughter today. happy birthday Sweety if you read grandma blog.
having a little trouble getting my pulse rate to stay above 50's so feel a little hohum some days, the dr. is checking me out so no worries please, i'm in good hands.
Loving alot of the E'mails, some i'll take to heart and some make me laugh, THANKS.
Will be heading east around the 10th of jul. trying to see family and friends along the way.

By the way make a new friend this week, or let the friends you already have know your thinking of them.

rain-rain-rain

The title isn't lying. Its been raining almost every day or looked like it was going to rain.
Still wearing long sleeves most of the time. It just isn't June to me, but I guess its a little better than real hot and high humid weather.
Got some personal stuff done like twice yearly teeth cleaning, RV oil change, its good to have compitant nephews to help me out, so I can go another 5,000 miles before I need to do it again. Even got the air filter changed, should have done that more often, but now I know. I took the car in to see about taking some road paint that got sprayed the front, it didn't come off, they scraped the window but it needed more powerfull salvent to get it off the bumpers and side mirrors. Will try to figure something out later down the road.
Got to help with watching a 2 1/2 month old for about 10 hours. It was pretty easy, it took 3 adults to make it through, but when Mom got off work and picked him up it was time for us grandparents to rest a little. Sure glad GOD gave little ones to young people. and let the older ones be the spoilers.
More appointment sceduled the rest of the month to get yearly stuff done, some aren't as fun and others but need to stay healthy so can keep traveling.
Lost and cousin this past week and that helps remind me to tell the ones you love often and don't take yourself too seriously, Enjoy your time on earth

SD Happenings

My sister n laws and I went for a road trip the first part of the week and it was wonderful. The companionship was the best. We met a couple other sisters for a good lunch and more visiting.. Went to a cemetery where above on a hill is a labrinth that some students put in and a water fall, plants and seating. It is amazing and so inspiring to walk it and let your mind wonder...
After our lunch we wondered around Prairie Retreat to see if there might be a good place out there for a labrinth. think it was successful in finding a perfect spot... Prairie Retreat is a place that if so calming but yet active for farm animals, and hunters and visiters love it there. Knowing this is cuz my husband and I spent time
On our way back home we picked up a brother n law and he helped by driving back so us sisters could nap a little.
Wed was a day of rest and recoop a little. The sister n law that is going through cancer treatments is doing pretty good. A little tired, expected with the chemo, other meds what her body is going through.
Even had my yearly medical checkup, so had to fast one morning and by noon i was really hungry.
Today was a little tireing, up early to take a neice to have minor surgery then apt. for my sistr n law with wound nurse. A very long day that was more stressful than you'd think.
Well enough for today. tell your loved ones that you love them often tomorrow may never come

rainy today

Still in Sioux Falls, SD. where today is really rainy and windy, and looks cold, haven't been out of the RV yet. the weather here has been pretty windy, enough to have to pull the sides in so I wouldn't rock so bad. My sister n law here from CA. also was rocking in the wind. That happened several times in just a few days. I was hopeing to have nicer weather when I got here late May.
Went with my Sister n Law to her cancer treatment the other day and its amazing, she isn't having much side effects. Feels a little tired afterward so needed a nap, but thats about all. Her blood count was good before treatment, with meds now they can presvent the treatment distroying the white cells, and nausia.
I got appointments made of yearly check ups and setting up dates with other family and friends in the area, so thats pretty good for me.
Still having some trouble with the satelite service, a son from another mother is coming today to see if he can fix my situation. He just happens to work for DirecTV so thats a plussss. The weather is really bad so not sure if today is a good day to do it. At least i'm getting my music channel,, not alot of the other stations I like to watch. hopefully its just the receivers and not the dish part. It will be good to see him again after a couple years.
Yesterday went to a rummage sale in Lenox and the whole town had about 50 people taking advantage of the advertisement for the town. Yes i got a couple things but so did my sister n laws. We had lunch before heading back to SF.
Last week went to a memorial day rememberance and it was a wonderfull service. Went around and put flowers and flags on family graves and just thought of the loved ones we have lost. Hope your memoral was one of rememberance of our fallen fighting men past and present.
By for now. Remember to remember everyday not just on memorial day.

few hundred mile later

I am still getting used to a couple things. Left Florance CO, and went to La Junta for 1 nite to see another cuz. Got to meet another pert-near cuz aswell. Left there and headed east to KS to see another cuz, which is on a farm near Ulysses and having NO noise with neighbors so far away you don't know their there. Was there a few days and enjoyed visiting with them. Also got cought up on some family info stuff, new babys, new marriages, some departures. It has been great getting to know family better and not just seeing them at a reunion for a couple days and trying to see so many.
Got to another cuz, also in KS. in junction city.. Haven't seen her sence I was a teen and she wasn't sure she remembered me. She is younger than I, we had a good time in getting to know each other again. She works for a wild life reserve and was taking care of two little ones that didn't have their mothers anymore. It was so facinating to see and hear the caring and the passion in what she loves to do. I plan on staying longer next time to be able to go through and see more
Headed north east and got into Omaha NE. mothers day afternoon. got phone calls from my kids and a couple more people as well. The friends I stayed over with, we have know each other from a tour of Norway some twentysome years ago. they excepted me to come and enjoy a fine dinner a got to see their kids and grandkids. They are still working so got to see them mon. before they left and then I headed to Sioux Falls SD. arrived about 2 in the afternoon. My sister n law is going through cancer treatment and was so good to see that she is doing good. She has slowed down a little but doing good. My other sister n law and her husband are here from CA. and its great to all together again.
Getting to see the nephews and neices, there's a little bitty one to hold and cuddle, so that makes the visit even better. My two brother n laws and nephew made a desk/craft table for my sister n law to do her crafts with plenty of room. she had a little kids desk before. They are painting it so still haven't gotten to use it and move all her craft stuff back in her room.
The weather has been really cold and really windy, so windy that I had to pull the side in so I wouldn't rock to bad. It tends to wear out the awning part of the pull outs. It makes my house a little small but cozy anyway.
Got to pickup my mail personally instead of calling to have it mailed to me. Have some stuff to do while in the area. Will be going to a few places in the area and hope to be able to camp maybe if everyone is up to it.
Would love to hear from family and friends is they like my blog or any comit it welcome. Well enough for now. Need to go watch csi with my sisters.
Tell someone you love them everyday, its makes them feel good and it makes you fell good too.

finally

Yes!!! finally I have something to write about. I am finally in my house. got it back yesterday afternoon . Working out some bugs and getting used to the new appliances. Its taking some time to get organized with all the stuff that I have been hauling around with me.
Its was more stressful than I had thought dealing with the insurance, at least this ins. agent. But ended up in emergency with a/fib. My heart was having a different party in different chambers. It went back to normal on its on. But glad I decided to go in. Also my blood pressure was all over the place, mostely high. so now on BP meds....
The weather isn't the greatest today so I decided to go say my goodbys to some I won't see before leaving in a few days. I was very blessed to have family to stay with and enjoy being with them as well. But very thrilled to have my house back as well. Good thing I wanted to stay in one place (this place) for this long. Leaving in a couple days to work my way toward SD. have 4 stops to make in between to get there, but not long at each.
I think I need a nap this afternoon. Meds or just tired, but it seems like a good thing to do right now.
Ps: Take good care of yourself, its not just you that matters.

more update of RV

I'm still not in my house. It has been 4 weeks today sence I took it in to be fixed, still things that need doing. Had to leave that cuzzins house where I was staying . and go to another cuzzins house, not too far away. (Your thinking they got tired of me, but not the case, they had over company that they needed the room I was staying.) Went to the RV repair place to see if things were done and some is and some isn't. Got a little stressed about it. Was hoping to be moving back in my RV today.. I took my frustration out on my car. Went and drove it through the car wash, wiped it down so no spots and even pulled up to the vacuume place, by the time I was done I wasn't as angry, and my car is cleaner.
There's a storm heading in tomorrow evening so maybe, so maybe it will be better to get back in my house in a few days instead.... I sure am blessed to have family that tollerate me staying here so long. Storm or no strom my daughter and family is heading this way in a couple days as they pass through heading to the East Coast.
Will let you allllll know when i'm back in my little house.... Don't forget to cherish your loved ones and make sure you tell them often that you love them. Don't expect them to read your mind about how you feel about them...

RV update

Hay I'm still in my cuzin's spare room. But things are progressing along. No exact date on when they will be done with all the repairs. Things I never thought about going bad. Hopefully one day this week.
Went to Church this morning and again it was a great sermon. We didn't have a jam session this sunday, but their thinking of making it mondays last afternoon. It makes for a long sunday when everyone is busy.
We happened to get some snow this afternoon, but not enough to stick anywhere. I thought it we entered spring officially???????????
Will let you know more when I know more!!!!!!!
Remember never to honk at old people!!!

Monday, March 30, 2009

Well not much to add from last week. The jam session was wonderfull. The next day went into Colo.springs and met with my 2nd cuzin for lunch and we had a good visit. Then last thurs went into Florence and had lunch with another cuz, and then without notice it was sunday again. It was a very good sermon and the potluck after was really good with alot of homemade stuff. Later that same day the jam session was on again. Played from the back of the song book so got to hear different songs.
My house is still waiting for its upgrades, it takes time to price stuff and turn in the estament and such so My cuzins are not too tired of me yet, I hope. Its been 2 weeks tomorrow that this all started, some days it seems longer and some days it doesn't. Some of the songs remind me of Garry singing with my cuzins and that makes me sad that he's not here to join in.
Started a good fire in the wood burner and makes it nice and cozy.
We had some snow last thursday afternoon and evening, about a couple inches. It was really pretty coming down and being in a nice warm place. the sun came out fri. and melted about half of it, but didn't want to even get out with the windchill factor. Just laid around and did some research on Genealogy online. It was the first time doing it on my own computer. I get a 2 week free trial before joining so I will see how the next 2 weeks goes. Almost sure I will join to get information on family stuff and research back as far as possible.
I'll quiet babbling and let you know later of the progress of my house

update on my house

Well I'm still in familys spare room and doing good. Went to church this morning and the sermon was very good.
About my house= Called the insurance and also talked to the RV place and like I said its not good..... The 110 is blown.... Which I have learned that even if the electrical appliances were not turned on, it send a serge through it anyway.. So we are looking at everything replaced. TV's, microwave, toaster oven, dvd/vcr recorder, printer. They will be working on it for about 2 weeks to get everything ordered and put into the unit. Have been taking trips back to get stuff out that I need. Maybe even the frig. It works on propane and batt but not sure if they can fix the electrical part, so that hasn't been checked out yet. I liked things the way it was but will have to get used to different stuff and how it works.
well people are starting to come over, family and church family are going to be jamming so will close for now.

NM to CO

The last few days in NM. was really nice. My aunt and I went out to White Sands Missle Range Musium and exhibit of the missles. It was a ways out there but very enjoyable.
Left Alamogordo and headed north and stayed in Las Vegas NM over nite. Didn't get as early a start as I wanted to, so didn't get as far as planned.
Left Las Vegas and headed north and pulled over for a break. Saw a rig with the same State license and started to ask what town they were from, but they were from the state of CO. and after talking a little while discovered that they knew my cuzin, even went to school together and knew the siblings. What a small world we live in...... Happy St. Pattys day...Got to forance CO. about 4:30...... Started plugging in and we had sparks and all kinds of things happening. Tried to reset things and nothing....so shut things down and just visited awhile and would think about it the next day, didn't sleep to well with thoughts of my house.. This morning (18th)I checked all the plug in, outlets, cords and anything I could think of that might have caused my prob. ....everything was good with no shortages there... Opened the fuse box and no fuses were blown but saw my 30 amp blown, so no conversion. no power. Called the RV place in Canyon City and they could look at it today..(its not their busy season till middle of apr.) so that was to my advantage....they started with the routine stuff to check out what I experienced and there outcome was NOT good.... So next step called the insurance and waiting for an adjuster to asses what the RV people discovered and see where I go from here.....
Luckely I have family to stay with that have a spare room for me to sleep...and a place that I trust to fix my house. Hopefully it won't take too long to get everything going like it should... so I was just grabbing stuff to get me through the nite... Its not to far there to get more later if I need.
I do have some good news, today. I received a pkgs from my daughter that contained goodies to munch on. It was my birthday so the pkg came with a sugar cookie that looked like a B-day cake.
Remember to keep a stiff upper lip and everything happens for a reason, we may not know why at the time or ever. There's always someone out there thats worse off then you.... just heard yesterday a cuzin had twins and lost one within an hour of her birth..Now thats something to worry about or be sad about.
Will be sure to keep you posted of my adventures, by for now.

out of AZ in NM.

Well like I said in my last blog I'm not in AZ anymore. I am in Alamogordo, NM. visiting friends and Great Aunt on my fathers side.
I decided to take it slow in my trek to NM. I stopped by the Colossal Caves and went on a tour that was about 45 min. and the guide had some funny things to say as well. Had to get my 51 cent souvenior. The smashed penny. there were a class of about 8 or 9 year olds and they thought that I should get them all one too. There were about 25 kids and I didn't have enough cash on me or I might have done it.
Went to a campground down the road that was booked then just a little farther they had a site at another campground for me. the next day went east on hwy 10 and into NM. Still taking it slow and needed some more time to myself. Stopped just after the the state line and stayed another nite. The next day I arrived at my destanation early afternoon. The altatude is 4345 feet so that explanes why my walk was a little slower the second mile. my system isn't used to it. So thinking that a nap a day might get me through. while getting used to the lack of oxigen for my lungs.
My aunt is 87 and doing good. This morning I went with her to her every fri. bowling league with other seniors. It was fun cheering them on. I hope I can be as active when I'm her age. Also a trip to shop and have lunch. After lunch we both took a nap, my lasted longer than I had planned.
Will get back to you all when I have some interesting things to say or places I might go to. Till then Keep your hearts open to possitive things, don't forget to change you clocks. this weekend.

still getting r done

Well its been awhile, I have been getting R done. So much that I had to start a new list cuz the old list was getting too marked up. Now thats good for me. ..... Picked up the owners of the place I have been staying the 24th. They have helped me get some other stuff done before leaving. Went on a nice 4 runner ride on sat. morning that let us find some old indian pottery, and some awsome rocks with alot of vains of color running through them. Looking for the pottery and rocks It was so amazing to find life in the desert with such little tinny blossoms that you had to bend down to see them. the desert is all in bloom and in another week it will be even more colorfull. We also got in some target shooting which is getting me used to my companians.
Went to Breakfast at the VFW in AJ, AZ it was pretting good.. then had stops the get our other adgenda's done. got some cleaning stuff for my companions and while there received a call from my daughter that My grandsons Daddy is home and having to get reaquanted. Mom got to have some time alone to get personal stuff done without having to deal with a 2 year old along the way.....
Well the next blog with be coming from another state and I will let you know where and when, when I blog next time.....
It has really been a great Feb. got alot done and time to relax and think about my route in the coming months. I will be going into some states that I have never been to. especially without Garry. I want to thank my friend/classmate and husband for trusting me with their prize Kitty's and their house for 2 weeks, and also taking me around and intertaning me while they were home. They also helped with some of the things that was on my list. Still have things to do but the list is somewhat smaller than when I started a month ago. By the way I did get my photo taken and papers filled out and turned in for my passport. They said it would take 3 to 4 weeks to receive it in the mail.
Well I better close and get a good nights sleep for going on the road tomorrow. Till the next time, slow down and look for the littlest bloom in your area, hou will be amazed!!!!!!!

getting r done

Well I have gotten alot done. Everyday I have been doing something or still working on the day before project. Been a regular at Walgreens photo department. Had over 1500 photo's developed. Don't be too shocked at the number, I haven't had developed photo's for at least 14 months. and of course ordered some extra's to share with family. Yesterday mailed off 10 pkgs to the ones I have needed to for a long long long time.
Still doing walking that is feeling really good. Walking to Walgreens instead of driving is a quick mile. I even rearranged all the storage places in my RV. That didn't take as long as I thought it would. It made a little more room inside where I need it. Had my tires rotated the same day I had a health scan, they checked thyroid, blood pressure difference between my arms and ankle. Mine is good, they also checked liver, galbladder, kidney, carotid, abdomen, bone density. It didn't take long and walked out with the results. It sets my mind at ease a little bit.
We had rain the last couple days but it was nice. I could still walk on their treadmill. It even inclines to make your walking a little more effective. Had a quiet V-day, Did get calls, cards and texts from family, so that was very good. Even the cats I'm watching sat on my lap, at different times of course. One is more agressive than the other, so have to go get the shyer one and she'll sit there for a long while.
The weather is perfect for another walk outside today and maybe getting my passport pict done later today. Not planning on going anywhere, but would be nice to have in case I get the itch to take off somewhere someday and Ill be ready.
If your out and about today, give someone your smile, it doesn't cost you anything and its with make both of you feel better. Till next time!!!

AZ sky's

Hello,
I'm in Gold Canyon with a classmates. Was here less than a day when they offered me a job that I couldn't turn down. I didn't have to think too hard about it, beings I'm not on any too regid scedule. The job is what I need for a little while. It might be a little rough at first, baby sitting 2 cat and watching the house that has a hot tub and the beautiful sky's of AZ. to see all day. The sunsets are soooo awsome, haven't seen the sunrise yet, but maybe at least one time i can get up early enough. They will be gone for a couple weeks and that will give me time to get alot done that I have been putting offfff for far too long. Paper work, going through storage compartments, washing the RV, tires rotated on car, and so much more than i have time to write down.
Went for a drive thursday to the mine, did a little strolling through bushes and rock to see what we could find. Found some pieces of pottery with a design that is really old. The mine now used to be a minning town in the 1880's. They have pictures of the town and are finding alot of old stuff. Very interesting putting together old pict, with the genealogy work that I have been doing. The classes have really helped me. I have also learned that I'm behing in stuff that alot of other people already know, oh well better late than never.
Been here a week and up till the last couple of days its been beautiful. the clouds started coming in on fri. and are leaving today. The weather is still very cool, or cold for me, cuz i'm a sissy.
Have been trying to get some walking in while i'm here, its been really good and been able to sleep better with the exercising that has been along time coming too. I have a walking stick they gave me, in case of critters in the desert and balance, so been doing some upper body stuff too done on my walks.
I'll try to put some pict in next time of the sunsets and even a sunrise, don't hold your breath.
Well, need a shower after that long walk this morning.... Thanks for the commets about my blog. Look forward to more commets, just ignore my typo's (not spelling mistakes) when you leave a note to me.

sill in AZ

Still in AZ. up the road from Yuma a little ways and stayed over nite and had a good girl chat with my friend then yesterday went to Quartszite for a day and a nite. Walked around some of the fleaMarket booths and all the beautiful stuff they have, and it was interesting to me that there were so many, you would have to spend more than a week to see everything. If you never been here you wouldn't believe it. FleaMarkets everywhere andfood booths that sure smells good as your walking around. I did pick up a couple things that I thought I needed.
My friend from the cold country is heading towards home today, hopefully it will be warmer for her by the time she gets there, checked the weather on her route and looks good.
I'm heading today myself for a little ways east, near Phoenix, AZ. Visiting with a classmate of mine from High School. Stayed with her a few days in the spring when it was getting very warm and she said to come back in the winter when it wasn't as not, so thats my plan.
The weather now is wonderfully warm during the day and cool at night.
Well need to check things before getting on the road, so will type at you later.
GOD and Garry are traveling with me, so don't worry to much, you have my number or E address so just call or write and remember alot of dark clouds have a silver linnings.

Thursday, January 29, 2009

Hello again. sorry its been a while sence my last post. Like I said I was busy learning some more things on genealogy and how to search for records. My brain is a little mixed up and full of stuff that needs to be sorted out.
Drove to Yuma and met with a friend thats from the cold cold area and needed to get thawed out. Its good just hanging out. spent a couple nites dry camping, it was OK but I'm spoiled and need my elec.
I do have something to sahare that will come to shock to some of u. I upgraded to a new comp. and its wonderful with the bigger screen. My uncle in Hemet helped download my stuff of my old one and transfered all my stuff that I need to have. It was sure easier than retyping it all over into the new one. Its sooooo nice to beable to get on line in less than a couple minutes, the old one I would turn it on and go do something for about 20 minutes.
Its a little windy here and my eyes are starting to itch alot so need to get somewhere the winds arn't so strong, but not so sure if thats possible in AZ.
keep moving forward in life and only remember the good times. Tomorrows another day if today wasn't as good as you expected. Good night from AZ.

Happy New Year

Its a little past the new years, but hopefully all had a great coming of 2009. The weather got a little warmer in the high desert finally, sure is nice not wearing thermals. Its was a great time with family this month in the high desert. have more places to go so left the 12th to head further south.
Still in CA. drove to Hemet. Visiting my Aunt on my Moms side of the family. Too bad its too cool to go for a nice swim., There's a great pool right behind my RV, but I'll need a scuba outfit in order not to freeze something.
Will be keeping busy catching up on family history. Learning how and what sites to go to find certificates and family connections. I'll have a good teacher, my aunt works in the library in the geneology department. Sure hope I can keep up and learn enough to trace family information. We went through some pictures of my Moms side that I hadn't seen before. Learned that my paternal great grandma had red hair as well as my maternal grandma. My Uncle went to a radio control plane show for the day, so he missed out on all the history chatting about stuff he's probably heard alot.
We watchied shows that we taped from last nite ., A game of donino's was more entertaining last night technology is great, especially when its really nice to fast forward the comercials. It was my lucky night or they were making me feel lucky beings I just got here. Had some homemade bread pudding for a evening snack. Really good.!! It is sure nice to be able to leave the door and windows open most of the day. to get some fresh air. It still gets a little chilly when the sun goes down., but nothing like the high desert.
Enough for today ........Keep up your spirites.........look forward to just BEING........and tell someone everyday that you LOVE THEM.. Life is shorter than you think. !!!!!!
